Girls of the Year-Limited Edition

There have been 6 Girls of the Year dolls, and Mia St.Clair is the current one. Each doll came with her own story and was avaliable for only one year.

These are honestly my favorite part of American Girl. I have Jess Nicki and Mia, and I couldn't be happier with them. Their books are fabulous! I highly suggest these dolls!!

Mia St.Clair-Mia has grown up playing ice hockey with her three older brothers and has the skills she needs to become a star hockey player. But she's tired of skating in her brothers' shadows and has decided to pursue her passion for figure skating instead.  With the help of a new coach, Mia finds out whether she has what it takes to grow and compete as a figure skater.

Nicki Fleming-Nicki Fleming is a natural with animals. When the chance to train a service dog comes up, she just can’t say “No,” even if it means taking on more responsibility and having to give up some of the things she loves doing. When Sprocket the puppy turns out to be a handful, it takes all of Nicki’s compassion to continue his training. She knows that one day Sprocket will make someone else’s life better—and that makes all the difference.

Jess Akiko McConnell-Jess McConnell is on an adventure! She and her parents are spending five months at an archeological dig of ancient Maya ruins in the Central American country of Belize. It’s Jess’s first time out of the United States. It’s her first time being home-schooled. And it’s her first trip without her older brother and sister. Yet Jess is excited to explore a new place all on her own.

Marisol Luna-Marisol Luna was born to dance! So when ten-year-old Marisol learns that her family is moving to the suburbs, she is heartbroken to find that her new neighborhood doesn’t have a dance studio. Then a friend helps her see that a real dancer never loses faith. She must dare to dream, then dare to do! Marisol was American Girl’s Girl of the Year 2005.

Kailey Hopkins-Even more than swimming and body boarding through the California surf, ten-year-old Kailey loves exploring the pristine tide pools on her favorite beach. When a developer threatens to destroy the coastline by building a marina, can Kailey find a way to stop it?

Lindsey Bergman-Ten-year-old Lindsey Bergman has a brain for big ideas and a passion for principles. She just can’t help wanting to help people—so why does she always seem to cause more problems than she solves? Her heart is always in the right place, but the rest of her always seems to be in trouble—at least until she learns there’s more than one way to make a difference.

Just Like You Dolls

Just like you dolls, formally known as Girls of Today, are a very large part of the American Girl history. There are currently 24 Just Like You dolls you can own, but many have been revised or retired. Here are the current girls.

Now, American Girl is offering ear-piercing for their dolls, and you can have the doll's ear's pierced at an American Girl Place near you! What fun!

Historical Characters

One thing that American Girl believes in is that children should learn about our history. They want children to read, and have fun with it! So American Girl has created 13 Historical Characters-each with their own book-To help children learn about the past. They try to make the doll's accessories and furniture as realistic and historically accurate as possible and on most things I think they do an amazing job!
