- At the American Girl Place, the hair stylists use a toothbrush and just a little spritz of water to style the doll's hair.
- Don't share a hairbrush with your dolls. The oils from your hair will dry out the doll's delicate hair and make it frizzy and unmanageable.
- I don't recomend it, but if your doll's hair is dry or dirty two methods I have used are baby shampoo and downy fabris softner. Wash your doll's hair in downy (Being careful to keep everything out of her eyes), then set it in rollers and allow it to dry overnight, or put some downy fabric softener is a bowl and allow the doll's hair to soak.
- For dolls with curly hair I don't recomend brushing it, but a pick does work. With my Nicki doll, when her curls go flat, all I have to do is twist the hair around my finger, spritz it with some water, and they go back to normal.
- Just like your hair, you shouldn't pull the doll's hair too hard. If you pull it too hard to get a tangle out 2 things might happen;
#1. You will pull out more hair than just the knot
#2. You will make the place where you pulled the knot out very frizzy and dry.
- I don't recomend cutting the dolls hair, but if you simply HAVE to, I would have a professional do it, since most doll's hair is quite hard to cut correctly, and you wouldn't want to ruin your $90 doll now would you?
